This event has been cancelled for the Summer of 2020.
If space exploration fascinates you or if you ever wondered what it would be like to visit another world, then the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) Summer Center for Space Science is for you. During this two-week experience at APL, students work in collaborative teams alongside NASA scientists and engineers to craft a space mission. Working in small groups, you will experience the process of planning and building a NASA Discovery Mission, including the design and fabrication of a satellite and the application of innovative technologies. You will be part of a team that builds a scale model of your spacecraft, complete with instrumentation. You will also launch your own water bottle rocket!
For students entering grades: 6-8
