Gifted children need to have their social and emotional health nurtured along with their intellect. Because of their unique learning needs, gifted children may be at risk for specific social-emotional difficulties. These may include heightened awareness, anxiety, perfectionism, stress, issues with peer relationships, and concerns with identity.
